Officials confirmed that shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a woman driving on the parkway near Vermont Terrace hit the ice, losing control of her vehicle, which struck a guardrail and slid onto a stretch of the frozen Bronx River.
According to a News12 report, a second driver hit the same patch of black ice shortly after the initial incident and also struck the guardrail.
No major injuries were reported. The cars were quickly cleared from the area and traffic was not affected on the Bronx River Parkway.
